Full disclosure. I’m a Virginian. I didn’t vote for Spanberger. I abhor what the Democrats are trying to do to my state.
Higher taxes. 50+ at last count. Unlimited abortion. Unlimited male access to female private areas. Males in female sports. Draconian gun restrictions. Making Virginia a sanctuary state. Prohibiting local police and state police from working with Federal law enforcement. Soft on crime policies. Redistricting to a 10 to 1 ratio in Congress. You get the idea.
Spanberger is a trained intelligence operative. She is capable of looking you straight in the eye and lying to you with conviction and spirit. Spanburger is professionally delusional. She demonstrated that trait all during her campaign for governor and with every word she spoke last evening.
1. She lied pretty much nonstop. About the economy. About ICE. Heck, she even used the story about ICE “arresting the little boy in the blue hat.”
2. The response production was freaky and just silly. The 40 or so people there were a clapping distraction worse than a laugh soundtrack dubbed onto a sitcom. It was pathetic. Sign up? Immediate clapping. Sign down? Silence. It gave the tone of her speech a plastic shallowness that, in reality, matched the depth of her message.
3. She spoke about affordability. More than half the state of Virginia at that point about choked on their popcorn. Her very first action as governor was to back enormous tax increases on Virginians. She campaigned on ending property taxes. Well, that ain’t happenin. So her generalized comments about the current state of national affordability carried the weight of a helium balloon.
4. She came across as someone who was required to mouth the party script. She did that well. What is the saying? Confidence implies certainty. Volume implies the truth. Her whole speech was an “implication” of a story that wasn’t true, said with conviction, supported by the volume of coordinated applause.
The DNC Media now has the task to edit for effect and choose the talking head verbiage for the next few days. Until they can fuel the hate Trump engine with something shinier and newer.
Recognize that music and don’t dance to it. Governor of Virginia needs to be Spanberger’s last elected office.
